Typical Use:
To prepare this tea, the most important rule is to avoid boiling water, as this can burn the leaves and create a bitter taste; instead, heat water to around 70°C–80°C (160°F–180°F). If using a standard infuser or French press, add one tablespoon of leaves per 8 ounces of water, pre-moisten with cold water, and steep for 5 to 10 minutes. Traditionally, it is prepared in a special gourd with a filtered metal straw called a bombilla, and the same leaves are repeatedly refilled with hot water until their flavor is depleted.
